Service Description

VESSEL REPORTING SERVICES Often clients will request a "once over" inspection to determine if a vessel is worthwhile of a complete inspection, or if the potential owner does not require a written report. The surveyor will walk through the subject vessel with their client, either in person or virtually, identifying any and all points of concern, and illuminating "show stoppers" I.E. structural damage, costly issues with integral systems, or other deficiencies that would prohibit the client from pursing a vessel further due to disinterest or potentially significant monetary repair costs. EXPERT WITNESS During litigation, your attorney may suggest the use of an expert witness. As industry experts, we express our opinion on value and comment on any number of issues from manufacturing defects, products and completions, adherence to common Standards and Recommended Practices, and more. RISK ANALYSIS MANAGEMENT Requested by the Underwriter to act as eyes and ears in the field. The Surveyor paints a realistic picture of the operation being underwritten. He inspects Certificates of Inspection, alcohol policy, first aid practices, fire drills, etc. He interviews captains and crew, looks for potential areas of liability including danger of tripping and falling, bad lighting, food preparation etc. Sub Chapter T 46 CFR and US Coast Guard regulation compliance are discussed. ON/OFF HIRE MARINE SURVEY Prior to leasing marine equipment, both parties document the condition of the equipment for comparative purposes after the completion of the job. This may be done for a head boat for whale watching, a tug and barge, or shore side facility.
